Reevaluating the Professional Path of Women Architects and Examining Obstacles and Strategies for Their Advancement

The specialized panel "Women in Architecture; Experience, Impact, Future" was held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 16:00 in the Avini Amphitheater of the Faculty of Fine Arts. Organized by the Architecture Scientific Association, this event provided a platform for discussion on the role and status of women in architecture, attended by professors, researchers, and students.

Opening with a Documentary Screening

The event began with the screening of a documentary produced by the Scientific Association Team. The documentary explored the experiences of women architects in Iran, addressing their challenges, achievements, and influence in architecture from various perspectives. The screening set the stage for the subsequent discussions, creating a reflective atmosphere for the audience.

Lectures and Experience Sharing with Architecture Experts

Following the documentary, Dr. Elham Andaroodi, a faculty member of the Faculty of Architecture at the Faculty of Fine Arts, hosted the panel with a speech on the position of women in architecture and their professional career paths.

Next, Dr. Mahsa Majidi, an architect, researcher, and CEO of Bagh Irani Architecture Studio, shared her experiences in design and project management. She highlighted the challenges faced by women in architecture while also discussing opportunities that can be created in this field.

In the following segment, Engineer Fariba Kermani, a researcher and faculty member at the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, spoke about her experiences in architecture and cultural heritage. She discussed the role of women in preserving historical monuments and examined gender perspectives in traditional and heritage architecture.

Conclusion and Q&A Panel

The event concluded with a Q&A panel, where attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with the panelists. The warm interaction between the speakers and participants reflected the deep interest and concern of the architectural community regarding the role of women in this field.
