Cino Zucchi is Professor of Architectural and Urban Design at the Politecnico di Milano and Visiting Professor at Harvard University. He is renowned for his projects in Venice, Milan and other cities in Italy and the world. He is also the recipient of numerous international awards including a Special Mention at the 13th Architecture Biennale (2012), the International Award Architecture in Stone (2009) and the Piranesi Award (2001).
At the beginning of Prof. Zucchi's visit, a meeting was held in the Centre of Excellence of Architectural Technology (CEAT) with Dr. S. Yahya Islami, the International Affairs Adviser to the College of Fine Arts. In this meeting, issues related to the theme of the talk and architectural pedagogy were discussed. Then, Prof. Zucchi, Dr. Islami and a few other companions visited studios, workshops and other areas within the College of Fine Arts. At 4pm, Prof. Zucchi began his talk, tracing the evolution of cities from a traditional, organic model to the industrial, modern and contemporary models. Simultaneous Persian translation was supplied by Dr. S. Yahya Islami and Hoda Sadrolashrafi. The event ended with questions and discussions with the audience.
