Following the University of Tehran's strategy to put more emphasis on research and to actualize the potentials latent within the School of Architecture, there has a been an effort to update the academic staff's position and status. Currently, there are six academic staff with the rank of professor within the School of Architecture, which means that from the thirty seven staff members, eighteen percent are professor and fourteen percent are associate professors. There are also seven applications for promotion, which are being reviewed by the Select Committee of the College of Fine Arts and two other cases that are being reviewed by the Art Commission. It is hoped that these changes will allow the School of Architecture to take further steps in its academic endeavours.
