Aesthetic of Qazvin Architecture
Authors: Seyed Amir Mansouri - Shohreh Javadi
Publisher: NAZAR Research Center of Art, Architecture & Urbanism
Description
The book "Aesthetics of Qazvin Architecture" written by Dr. Seyed Amir Mansouri, Associate Professor of the Department of Landscape Architecture, University of Tehran, and Dr. Shohreh Javadi, Assistant Professor of the Department of Art Research, University of Tehran, was published in 2016 by Nazar Research Institute of Art, Architecture and Urban Planning.
The purpose of architectural aesthetics in this work is to find common rules that have guided the architectural form of Qazvin from its earliest periods, whose works have survived, to the contemporary period. Form is the material of architecture that is obtained from its shape and proportions, its volume and compositions, its decorations and its body, light and movement (sequential understanding of the components of space). Each component of the form and in each example, has followed a rule to appear. Architects of every era have refined their perception of the works of others and have exposed them to the judgment of the people in a new work. Those parts that were the nature of observers have been continued and the unpleasant parts have been eliminated. This process, over thousands and hundreds of years, introduces us to common rules that, if we “open our eyes,” teach us the tradition of continuity of identity. Since it is a rule, it does not necessarily have the same form, and following the necessary developments of each era and the innovations of the time, the rule manifests itself in a new way in architecture. Accordingly, in this book, the aesthetics of Qazvin architecture have been examined and interpreted in two sections: “Aesthetics of Form” and “Aesthetics of Light and Form.”
