Description
The book " The Spatial System of ‘Iranian City’ in Islamic Era" is written by Dr. Seyed Amir Mansouri, Associate Professor of the Department of Landscape Architecture, University of Tehran, and was published in 2020 by the Nazar Research Institute of Art, Architecture and Urban Planning.
The book is a compilation of Dr. Mansouri's theory of "spatial organization" regarding the systemic reading of Iranian cities, which, within the framework of the scientific literature of the systemic approach, analyzes the system of formation of Iranian cities in the Islamic period in 5 chapters. Its first achievement is the explanation of systemic terms related to the city, which have so far been used in a tasteful and incorrect manner. Identifying the original components in the spatial organization of Iranian cities and their theoretical explanation in the first part of the book and verifying the results of research in 6 historical cities of Iran have led to the production of new documents in understanding the mechanism of formation and development of Iranian cities. The result of the book is also to present an applied method for spatial analysis of cities within the framework of systems theory that can be used in urban planning.
Chapter 1: Systems Perspective
Chapter 2: Evaluating Common Definitions
Chapter 3: Articulating the Theory of Spatial Organization
Chapter 4: Validating the Theory in Sample Analysis
Chapter 5: A Window to the Future
