Description
The book " Vernacular Landscape of Kerman" was published by Dr. Seyed Amir Mansoori, Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Tehran, in 2018 by Nazar Research Institute of Art, Architecture and Urban Planning.
What makes Kerman's unique identity from the scattered elements in Kerman's geography is the human interpretation of history and the interactions that the inhabitants of that region have had with their environment. In other words, Kerman is a unified understanding of the surrounding land of its inhabitants that cannot exist without them. This understanding is called landscape. The book "Kerman's Native Landscape" is the result of the efforts of thirty-five researchers and colleagues of Nazar Research Institute, which was obtained in a short-term research project. This book begins in the series of exploratory learning activities of Nazar Research Institute, based on the experience of space and travel, and is then revised and completed by an organization consisting of different academic ranks until it is finally published. The findings of this case study certainly offer a different perspective on the nature of “land” as a “landscape” that is closer to discovering the hidden and latent understanding in the minds of the people. The studies in this research have been conducted and classified in four groups. Although they are all types of landscapes, the classification made is based on the environment studied and the examples analyzed.
Part 1: Ritual Landscape
Part 2: Road, Agriculture and Village
Part 3: Urban Landscape
Part 4: Natural-Folk Landscape
