The third session titled "Dialogue Between Architecture and Graphic Design," featuring Saeed Forutan, the artistic director and graphic designer of Central Studio, was held on January 9, 2023. In this session, various topics were discussed and examined. Initially, a number of film posters designed by Saeed Forutan were analyzed, including the posters for the films "Toman" and "Kale Sorkh." The analysis of the posters included discussions about the film's identity, the origin of the design, the designer's mindset, and the design process. Following that, some of the designer's posters related to construction projects were presented, such as the Bomland passage project, which highlighted the logo type, font, and how they were developed. Additionally, through the interpretation of graphic works by artists and comparing them to architects and their works, commonalities between architecture and graphic design were discussed, including the format of architectural works and how they are presented, the design process, sources of inspiration, and the creation of visual identity, among other aspects. The examination of graphic works, their positive and negative points, their manifestation in architecture, the thought process, and the approach to reaching a design, as well as the key factors in creating a good graphic piece, can be considered the achievements of this session.
